One-off Yoga Workshops and Retreats...
2022-The Year of the Tiger Yoga Workshop- courage, power and potential.
Saturday 5th February 10am-1pm The Cow Shed Studio, Steyning, West Sussex. £35 for the morning which includes refreshments and notes.
We are entering the year of the Water Tiger as Chinese New Year begins at the new moon this February.
Tiger years are said to be a time to harness our inner strength, our determination to exorcise evils and inner demons and enhance our bravery. The water aspect nurtures that because it feeds the wood element- that which generates benevolence and generosity.
In this morning long workshop, we’ll explore the opportunities of this Water Tiger year and how to relate from your own Chinese astrological sign – don’t worry if you don’t know it, I can help you with that (or a quick google search will tell you!). We’ll be learning a little bit about all of the astrological types and the history and basis for this ancient and fascinating system.
In our yoga practice we’ll be working on poses that are overtly powerful and also the subtly powerful poses- reminding ourselves that our power is not only in our pounce, but also in our planning and even when we’re lying prone. We’ll cover why Tigers are said to be tough when facing adversity and our yoga session will be based around building resilience and preserving our energy for what is most important. We’ll meditate on the balance between taming and re-wilding our tiger nature and set ourselves up as powerfully as we can for the year ahead.
